Hi all,

It didn't eat it literally, but I'm in the midst of a install gone awry... I was running win2k with outlook express. In preparation for installing XP, I copied all of my data to another drive (including the .dbx files for outlook). I reformatted my system drive and installed XP prof clean.

I was planning on just copying my OE files into the new OE directory, but that doesn't seem to be working. Is there anyway I can get my XP/OE client to import or just use the existing .dbx files I have?

Thanks!
Alex

Did you export the files before you installed xp or just copy them?

I didn't realize that exporting was the way to go... I figured that if I had the raw files, that would be enough.

Oe will import the dbx file and put everything back the way it was, including any email folders you used to have. you might lose some graphics/attachements however. there's an option in the menu for it somewhere. keep at it, you'll figure it out eventually. it's the way i always do it. i never export first.

Duh - I did get it, under the Import menu. Initially, I didn't see that and everything I had read on the web seemed to indicate that it was very difficult - not so!

Thanks again!
