help would be greatly appreciated- paypal

i closed an account just before i was sent payment from someone who was paying me via paypal. i receive the following e-mail:

This email confirms that [John Doe] has cancelled the pending $207.00 earlier sent to you.

Amount: $207.00
To view your PayPal balance or other account information, log in at
https://secure.PayPal.x.com/login.

Thank you for using PayPal, a service of X.com!

althgouh they haven't admitted it, they probably think i'm trying to con them somehow. they tell me they haven't received the e-mail about cancellation of payment from paypal. what can be done? btw, shouldn't they have received confirmation of cancellation also?

Hmm. Change your password to something you can give away, let em login and see you don't have the money. Or take a screen shot and send it to em. Tell them to watch their own account balance and see that it doesn't go down.

Hi,

It actually sounds like the user was using echeck and that they canceled the transaction before it cleared.
