Help please. I kept bumping up the CPU multiplier to see how fast I could get it to go, and now it won't POST. No beeps, no nothing. I can't get in to the BIOS to set it lower.

Anybody?

Thx,

Check in your BIOS manual and see if there is a key to hold down to reset the BIOS or if there is any way to reset the BIOS. This usually entails jumping two points on the board. Hope this helps. BTW, what board?

Wrong... if you have way out of spec bios settings your computer wont even post.. the only way to fix it is jumper the cmos(flush the cmos) which resets your bios to default.. then you should be able to post and fix it

worst comes to worst, if you can't fidn the jumper (or stupidly it doesn't exist), you can take out the battery and put it back in....not elegant, but it works.

Hope this doesn't post twice. First one never showed up. Anyway, my board is an ASUS A7V133. Looks like resetting the CMOS is the only way out of this. Won't be able to do that til tomorrow, so if anyone knows of an easier way, please let me know.

BTW, I can't find anything in my ASUS manual on how to reset the CMOS. Is there a link?

Thx,

Just remember that resetting the CMOS on the A7V133 can require a bit of time. I knew of a few guys that needed to have the battery out for several hours before the CMOS reset. There may be some capacitors that supply power even after the battery has been taken out.
