Help with Yamaha CDR making coasters

Does anyone here have any experience with the Yamaha 2100EZ 16x10x40 IDE drive? I've had one for about a month now and burned several CloneCD images without a problem. Then I tried to use CDRWin yesterday and the problems started. Whenever I burn a CD from a BIN/CUE, the process goes ok and CDRWin says the operation was sucessful. However, when you view the cd in explorer, there's "nothing" on it. I'm running the latest non-beta CDRWin (3.8E) that supports the drive. I figured maybe the drive was just out of date, so I upgraded the firmware to 1.0N. Still burns coasters. I stripped my system down to nothing running but explorer, systray, and CDRWin and still to no avail. Anyone have any clue? I've gone through about 10 cds already and am running out of patience (and beginning to think this drive is a POS). Thanks in advance!

It's not pirated. It's the demo version and it's only 3 days old... I burned at the painfully slow 1x speed.

Can you burn CD's ok w/ other progs still? IF not, Maybe CDR media or burner has problems. If so:

Did you EVER use CDRWin before? If yes: Have you formatted/reinstalled? If No: CDRWin might be making coasters on purpose (detected pirated software).

If you have never used CDRWin before and it's not pirated I don't know.

Maybe CDRWIN itself is the culprit and not your burner. If your gonna burn BIN/CUE there is a great replacement. Just get FireBurner, ive used it before without any problems, plus it uncludes a handy image corruption checker. www.fireburner.com 😀

hrm, this is wierd. I just burned yet another disc with CDRWin at 1x and this one worked. But ONLY after ejecting it out of the tray and popping it back in. The other discs are still useless coasters though.

prolific: does fireburner.com's download link work for you? I just get:

Internet Explorer cannot download download.php?file=1 from www.fireburner.com

when I try...
