Help with XP Sysprep

I've already searched google and the forums, but I can''t seem to get System Prep to work right. I've tried both the one from the CD and the new one for SP1.

Heres my problem, after I used sysprep(with PnP, mini-setup, and no SID generation flagged), I just reboot back in to make sure everything works. It goes through the mini-setup fine, and then reboots into the desktop. From there everything seems fine, except the task bar/start menu don't respond(cursor turns to an hour glass when it hovers over it). Also, My Computer, Control Panel, My Docs, etc, open up fine, but when I try to go beyond that, that window will also lock up and not respond. I can access display properties from the desktop(right click, properties) with no problems.

Any Suggestions? Thanks

edit: I also tried adding in the BuildMassStorage lines in the sysprep.inf and still get the same thing.
edit2: just tried it a few more times in hopes that it was something I missed. This time the taskbar is working, however, i'm still having the windows lock up on me if i try to access anything.

Ok, found the problem to be my sound card (sb live 5.1). With that removed, everything works fine. Does anyone know how this is a problem or how to get this installed? With the card in, I can't do anything, and with it removed, the SB setup won't continue with the drivers installation(which i hope would solve the problem once installed).
