Help with XP pro - windows 98 startup menu?

I just reformatted my dell 600m, and installed my own copy of xp pro.

I installed all of the hardware drivers from the Dell CD, and installed sygate and AVg antivirus.

When I reboot XP, it loads the Windows 98 startup menu, where I have to choose to boot from the hard drive or from a cd-rom. there is no cd in the drive and nothing else connected.

What is causing this and how do I get rid of it?

sorry, i fixed it.

not sure waht it was, but the XP pro was Sp1, installed the first set of updates and it went away.
