Help with wireless network

When I first start up, my internet works fine through a pci wireless card (D-Link). However, after a while (an hour or so) of not using the computer, the internet stops working even though it says that it is connected with full strength. I have to restart the computer for it to work, every time and its really annoying. I have looked at setting and stuff but cant figure it out. I'm almost positive its my computer and not modem/router.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update firmware for the wireless card and/or router.
Remember the best performance is achieved by using card and router from the same manufacturer and product line.
