Help with wireless and online gaming

Hi all,

I am recently forced to use wireless connection to access the internet at home. After the change I noticed some frequent stuttering when I play DotA (that's the only online game that I play). I have tried sneaking in the router into my room at night to play it over wired connection and the stuttering goes away.

I understand that wireless connection is not ideal for gaming but does anyone here know if there are any specific settings in the router that I can try to tweak to help improve the stuttering?
