My friend's computer suddenly began giving the blue screen. I don?t know what the problem is ? I?m hoping you guys can help me out.

I can?t even go into safe mode - blue screen.

It reads:

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
Tech Info:
STOP 0x000000ED (0x86314E30, 0xC0000032, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

All, any, help is appreciated. Thanks.

See this page. That second code indicates a damaged file system. Instructions are given for using chkdisk. If that doesn't work I think your friend is hosed.

Thanks a lot man! I should have consulted MSFT first, didn't think of that... I know anandtech forums offer the best help.

Will do! I commented his 3 ATA & 1 SATA HDD setup - it was probably overkill for the mobo. Its probably what caused the problem. Thanks!
