Help with Windows XP and burning files to cd

Ok, I got a new pc at my office which is running Windows XP Media Center on it. Windows keeps popping up this little balloon at the bottom saying files are ready to be written to cd. You can delete those, so I choose to delete them.

Well, low and behold, it deleted the source files from the hd. Which happened to be Quickbooks. Had to reinstall Quickbooks. This is some kind of cd burning software that is in Windows. Does anyone have a clue of where I can turn this off at. We use Nero for all of our burning and I don't want to use the crap in Windows, but it keeps on popping up that notice.

Thanks!

Try looking here: C:\Documents & Settings\(your profile name)\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning

Delete all of those files

Start > Run > services.msc > find and double click IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service. On the 'General' tab of properties box click the dropdown at 'Startup type', select disable and OK.

Well, I tried what John posted and I've tried several of the registry fixes I found on Google and believe it or not...none of them have worked. It's still coming up and giving that same message. This is about like trying to rid yourself of IE...good luck...lol!
