Help...with win32

I just put together a system with windows XP and am having a few problems. After I install some games (no one lives forever) I get told it is not a valid win32 application. Anyone know what that means? And am also having problems with unreal tournament. It says: This application has failed to start because glide2x.dll was not found. When I click on OK the game starts anyway. I Have downloaded the newest drivers for my vid card, but still having the glide problem. Anyone know what these are and how to fix them. Thank you for your help and your time.😕
 
What is the newest version of XP....I have version 2002. Could a newer version help the win32 problems. Can you just update versions w/out buying the newest one, or are they gonna make me pay?
 
Here is what windows os telling me:

C:\Games\Nolf\Nolf.exe is not a valid win32 application

Anyone know what that means? I am stumped.
