I booted off the professional install CD, and it got to the part of where win2k copies the files, and then when it restarts, before entering windows, it pops up with a windows blue screen error with the following message:

irql_not_less_or_equal

beginning dump of physical memory: datestamp 381f8c6e-hal.dll

i have no idea what to do...never had a problem like this before

thank you in advance

my computer system are as follows:
epox 8kta3 with 1.4 ghz
256 micron ram
geforce2mx400
61 gig hd

Hard to tell what gives you this stop error. First off: Update your BIOS to the latest version. If that doesn´t work:
Try is to install without APCI hal. Press F5 upon the first screen where it says something like "press F6 to install additional drivers". From the menu choose "standard pc". Also check your BIOS for any misconfigurations and remove the BIOS antivirus check.

I have similar problems on an EPOX 8K7A. I'm getting the "irql_not_less_or_equal" error after random reboots.
This happens when more applications are running at the same time. I do suspect my RAM (512MB Crucial).

Can anyone confirm it's the memory? It's the first time I'm using Crucial - always had Mushkin before without any problems.

Thanks...
