Ok so I paid the big bucks and bought Win2k/SP2 for my new machine and most of you said to install it with the NTFS instead of the FAT32 and I did that but now I have a problem with my scanner It wont load because NT does not support it. Need for Speed Porsche wont worl either. Can I change the OS from NTFS to FAT32 and/or will this help. I don't want to dual boot to run games and use my scanner.:disgust:🙁:disgust:

I wish I would have gone with Win98......

Thanks

Changing from NTFS to FAT32 won't make your scanner work, what kind of scanner do ya have?? Is it stated on Manufacturers website that it will not be supported in 2K....if thats the case then yeah that sux, your only option is to dual-boot or run Win98/ME. Hard lesson learned here, should have checked both hardware and software for 2K support.

Bad luck. No it won't help if you go fat32, I'm thinking
just get a cheap scanner that works in win2k if you
don't want to dual boot, and since you already paid big
bucks for the OS.

You can't move from NTFS to FAT32 in WIndows2k.
YOu need to buy a third party application to do this or wipe the harddrive and start over.
It sounds more like what Trashman said......

"Check your hardware and make sure it is compatible BEFORE you try out a new OS.
