Trying to help a friend set up a DVR for his video cameras at his store. This router's incredibly stupid, I Googled and everything I read didn't help at all. Here's what I'm trying to do, get his DVR accessable over the internet. I can access it on the LAN so I know it works. On the Westell I created a service called DVR and set up the ports which need to be forwarded. Out of frustration I've tried tcp, udp & both. It's just not forwarding the ports. If I punch the actual IP in on a different computer it connects to the router, and I've totally disabled the firewall to make sure that wasn't the problem.
if I try the IP + the port I get a cannot display the web page error message. Since I can connect directly to the router and the firewall's disabled it has to be something with this stupid router. It's a 7500 if that helps anybody.
