Help with website...

I would like to build a website with a template, and while I know a little bit about it I don't really have experience with it.

I have the template, so if anybody can help me out with getting started etc. please PM me.

well you'll likely need an html editor - check out HTML-Kit, it's free, has tons of plug-ins, and you can easily upload by FTP.

One recommendation that must be passed along to beginners - always always always keep frequent backups of your site.
