so i got in on that free domain name thing a few weeks ago.. then i signed up with godaddy's free ad-supported hosting.. then i learned about DeviousTrap giving away free webspace (here) and so he hooked me up.. anyhow, so now i want to transfer my host from godaddy to DeviousTrap's host.. how do i do that? i'm assuming i first have to cancel hosting from godaddy? then what?

thanks in advance for all the help

yah what loke said.

log into your godaddy account and click on your account.

click on manage domains and find your domain.

on the right you will see a nameservers summary box. you have to click on the link that says click to modify or delete.

click on the custom name servers radio button and enter the 2 that devious trap gave you.

then save and you are set.

Oh, and it'll take about, 48-72 hours for the nameservers to update.

No, more like 48-72 minutes, if that long.

I too have never seen it take as long as 2 days. However devioustrap, this made me have to send you a PM about an issue I'm having right now 🙂

In my experience with NameCheap.com it's averaging around 30 minutes, however your ISP's DNS servers ... that's a whole other ball of wax.
