I just got this Voodoo3 3000 from a friend of mine. He was convinced that it was fried in a power surge, so he gave it to me to see if I could do anything with it.
So I put it in, booted up, and everything seemed normal until I got to my (graphical) boot menu. It displayed some odd lines, spaced evenly across the screen from left to right. Booted
up, went all the way into Win2K. Still had the odd lines, however.
After awhile, the lines went away. I rebooted, they were still gone, so I fired up UT and tested for a few minutes.
No issues.
After another reboot, the lines showed up again, went away after a little while again. That seems to be the pattern; lines show up for a bit, then go away, then come back.
And I get the occasional hard-lock and have to hit the reset button.
Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions/ideas?
I'm thinking about flashing the BIOS to see if it has any effect.
