I snagged one of those Voodoo 4 4500 for 85 bucks the other day and just installed it. Win 98 works like a champ no problems. 2000 didn't seem to install quite as easily but is running fine.
The problem is when I shutdown or restart 2000. It hangs after the saving settings when the screen goes black. It doesn't power down on shutdown nor does it restart when I select restart.
I uninstalled my ati card from device manager then swaped cards. upon first boot I installed the drivers and rebooted. (I don't remember if I had problem then)On next boot I installed the 3dfx tools. On that install got an error saying "could not copy ms???.dll windows is protecting it, you may have to upgrade OS" I click ok to continue.
I noticed the problem after this is installed. I uninstalled the tools and tried again, no go. I logged in as administrator and reinstalled 3dfx tools, no help. also tried to reinstall the driver as administrator
Is there any way to fix this other than format d: . I hate to do that I just reinstalled about a week ago and have everything set up I hate to redo it again.
