Help with Voltages / CL Timing?

Hello,

So I want to preface this with one thing: I'm not an overclocker, and I'm not looking to max out my PC. I've been having some weird issues recently, and I think it may have something to do with my RAM not being configured correctly, so I just want to set up the computer with the correct settings.

I currently have 2 sticks of ADATA DDR3 1600 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-409-_-Product.

I also have this MSI motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-247-_-Product.

I am running this AMD Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-727-_-Product.

What I'm seeing is when I go into the BIOS, the system sees 4gb of memory running at 1333mhz. The BIOS has some settings that I can adjust for setting up the RAM, and one of them allows me to set the multiplier to 1:4, which brings the frequency up to 1600. One thing I also noticed (after buying the parts) is that the mobo prefers 1.5V ram, but the ADATA ram that I got is 1.65v minimum. So I went into the BIOS and found a setting to change the voltage (which I set to 1.71v which is inside the acceptable range for the RAM). I didn't adjust the CL timings, but I know the RAM is 9-9-9-24.

I'm just getting really tired of weird issues with the PC, and don't really care if the RAM is running at the full capacity, so I'm willing to drop it down to 1333 if possible. I'm just not sure what timing settings to use. I'm hoping someone here has had some experience with this MOBO and can help me figure out how to get the RAM set up properly. Any help?

Is it okay that the RAM says it should be 9-9-9-24, but CPU-Z says it's running 9-9-9-29?

I manually set the first 3 in the BIOS, but the tRAS only has an option for Automatic, so I can't manually set it to 24.

Also, I set the ram to run at 1.67V and replaced the power supply with a XFX XXX Edition 650W Modular Power Supply.

A lot of AMD users have had issues with that particular RAM kit

I'd be more concerned about you using a 125W processor on that motherboard though (MSI 3+1 phase VRM), it's suicide. For more info on why, see the link in my sig: "About VRMs & MOSFETs", on overclock.net

Hey, thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

I ended up going with a new Gigabyte mobo and a new ram kit. Here's the new Rig:

Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-727-_-Product

Mobo: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3758#ov

Ram Kit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=PGV38G1600ELK

Do you foresee any issues with that setup? I've had it up and running for a bit now and it seems to work fine. I stuck the other Ram kit in there just to check on the new mobo, and I got a whole load of memory issues on MemTest86 (so I think old ram kit is bad/incompatible).
