A few issues:

1) how do i disable it so I need administrator permission to do just about everything. Every folder I try to delete, it tells me I need administrator permission. I grant the permission, then it won't delete it anyway, telling me that I need permission anyway.

2) I have two program files folders for some reason, is this normal? The normal folder, then one Program Files (86)

3) Also, in relation to the program files folders - they are somehow write protected. (Read Only) so I go through and disable read only, then the next time I open them up they are somehow read only all over again. This is obviously a PITA as i can't install anything into my program files folders..

1) If you are using an administrator account you need to disable UAC.

2) I am assuming you are using the 64 bit version, in which case 64 bit apps will be installed in the default Program Files folder, and x86 programs will be placed in the Program Files (86) folder.

3) No clue sorry.

Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account Control On or Off

Let it be noted that when I simply turned it off this way, it still bothered me for EVERYTHING! I had to edit my Local Security Policy to shut it completely down.

I found this post on neowin that shows how to make the vista admin account act like the one in xp:

Click here to see the method..

The only thing that i don't know about using this method is if you will have to log in with one of the users after doing this procedure. Now i don't have to log in when turn on the computer as i dont' have a password. But after this method there would be 2 users so i assume then when you boot up there would be a log in screen. Would i be able to delete the old user and then the log in screen would go away?
