Should i get a radeon 9600 se and get max panye 2 and morrowind for 190 and wait for the r4xx to come out next year or get a good video card righ now.
ALl i have is 215 dollars and my current video card is a NIVDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64=32 mb

oh yea and another thing i wanted to ask was that i heard that some 9600 pro come in se boxes. If u guys remeber which upc code it was that has the pro models in the SE box i would really appreciate it.

Yes it makes a difference now 😉 I don't know waht cards they were (9600pro in se box) but if you want to upgrade a 9600pro would be a much better option than a 9600se, wich performs quite badly. I reccomend you to buy either a 9600pro or 5900nu(if you can pay it) and only one game: Max payne 2.

Hope this helps you

Link. The powercolor or ATI should be a very good choice. Avoid lite or EZ versions and 256mb radeon 9600pros. They are quite slower

You've got a P4 1.6? They're good for overclocking! Should be able to get more performance out of that PC running 9600 Pro and perhaps oc the 1.6 to 2.0? Hopefully your motherboard can do it. Definatly go for the Pro rather than sucky SE.

I've seen somewhere that 5900nu is for ~$175 which is a really good price... and it has great performance in DX8, and the same more or less as a 9600pro in DX9

I'm not going to say that I'm 100% sure about this, but I believe the 175 ish 5900nu comes with 2.8ns ram, which isn't terrible cause it'll still blow the doors off the 5700U, just not quite like 2.2ns.
