Hello, everyone. New to forum. Looking for advice, as I seem to be someone who knows enough about PCs to get into trouble but not enough to get out of trouble.

I have a Creative Blaster Riva TNT2 Ultra video card, and am running Windows Me. Also, I have an ASUS a7V Mobo.

My question is: Am I better off using the nVidia drivers or the Creative drivers? Is there a difference? What are detonators, and are they actually part of the driver files downloaded?

Also, BlasterControl does not work with the nVidia drivers (only with Creative drivers), so if I use nVidia drivers, is there a good comparable rpgram you woudl recommend?

Thanks

Can't help you out much (since I don't have an NVIDIA card). But I'd recommend detonator drivers. 1) since they release a new one seemingly every other week (improved performance ...) and 2) everyone else seems to be using 'em. If everyone else uses them (included benchmark sites like this one), why not use 'em yourself? Just my .03. Any other thoughts on this?

When using reference drivers(i.e. Detonators) you get updated and better performance but some of the card's features like TV-out for example may become incompatible. Try them out first to see if everything would work fine. For a comprehensive list of Detonator drivers, go here.
