Help with V-SYNC

I'm using a GeForce2 GTS 64mb with Hercules 12.41 Det3 drivers, coolbits hacked, and when playing Unreal Tourney my framerate holds steady at the refresh rate of the monitor, not exceeding or droping below it. (Sounds just like Vsync to me) and I know the card is capable of much greater speeds as it was achieving before the reinstall, however now I can't figure it out. V-sync is disabled in Open-GL, but I'm running in D3D and this problem is plaguing me, and I can't find where to disable it in D3D. All help owuld be appreciated, thanks!

Are you benchmarking? If you aren't then, it's better to leave Vsync on. If you are using windows 2000 you are limited to refresh rate and windows 2000 defaults to 60 Hz and you'll need program that allows you to change your refresh rate.

Not benchmarking. Refresh rate is set at 75 right now, tried 85 too, same results. It was doing this before and I had some setup: same card, same OS (Win2k SP2), same everything. I'm at a loss.

I think you should be very happy .. i think a constant 75 fps is better than an FPs continually switching between 70 and 110 fps ...

But it bothers me because I don't know what's doing it for one, and also it's hard to tell results of overclocking.

I'm not an expert, but could it be because of the max_fps is set at a certain number, and maybe you need to bump it up.

Once again, the problem is in Direct 3D mode. My refresh rate under Win2k is not a problem, I can set it easily. It's that my FRAME won't exceed it under D3D.
