My upgrade approach so far was to look for cards ~250 range, and upgrade when new card offers at least 2X of resources/performance (every 2-3 years). Open to any brand (no brand preferences), my current card is Nvidia 760 2GB. CPU 2600k, 16GB ram, decent power supply. I have 1440p monitor, and typically game at either 1080p (for newer games) or at native resolution for older games with medium settings. currently interested in continuing to play Witcher 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition.

Is there anything in current market that would give me 2X or more performance of Nvidia 760 for under 300 dollars?

Thank you

A gtx970 for 300$ and a free game is the best you can get if you want a Nvidia card again.

Its about 2x faster. Should max most games at 1080p/1440p Pick one, they are both about 300$.

Here is a chart to show you what the 970 can do.
