My cousin has a machine with an older Tyan Trinity MB using a PII 233, built by the tech Dpt where she used to work. The machine was working before she moved. First time we tried to boot it, we got a checksum error and couldn't access anything. Made sure all the cards and ram were seated and cleared the CMOS with the MB jumpers. Same thing. Doesn't see the keyboard, mouse or floppy. Tried several known-to-be-working keyboards and mice.

Will a bad CMOS battery do this or is there something else I should be checking?

Thanx,
