i need help figuring out what went wron with my build i got a tyan s2912 dual socket f mobo that keeps giving me a post code of ff an a blamk screen when both a single cpu or both cpus are installed or with the video card plugged in or trying to use the on board video.. ant thoughts as to what it could be????

i think my psu has something to do with it it is a cheap orion 585w power supplies that i got a 2x 4 pin molex to 8 pin cpu adapter to try and make work... the board calls for an eps power supply any thoughts about it might be the psu..

yes i am infact using ecc memory it is kingston ddr2-800... the motherboard says it can take 400,533,667 but does not list 800. but i think it is the cpu that determines the memory capability and or speed in an amd system not the mobo.. when i have been trying to star the system i didn't have keyboard plugged in i don't no if i need a keyboard plugged in for it to post or not.. my monitor does not kick on either it says no signal but that i think is because it is not posting at all. but the board does power on and shows the error code ff..

well i think i found my problem the opteron 2000 series can only support up to ddr2 667 memory so i think that is why it won't post...

This board requires Registered ECC DIMMs, not just any ECC DIMMs. DDR2-800 doesn't matter.

the memory i got is registered ecc memory but it is pc2-6400 and the opteron 2000 series can only support up to pc2-5300.. so i guess that is why the board isn't posting..
