Hi all

Maybe I am not fully understanding this whole multiple monitor thing, but I have an XFX HD 5770 and currently have a VisionQuest 22" 1920x1200 monitor connected to the card using DVI. My second monitor is a VGA Samsung SyncMaster 920n at 1280x1024 connected to the card via a VGA to DVI adapter.

I have it setup in the CCC to extend the desktop and this works fine for non gaming apps, but whenever I run a game, the second monitor's display turns off.

I would like to the second monitor able to display an app like GPUZ while playing a game, but the second display goes to blank, the monitor is on but no display.

Also, if I wanted to say play Bioshock2, which I have, across both displays, what would I need to do?

Thanks all!

run the game in a window if possible. Some games will run on one monitor while displaying your desktop on the other, and some don't.

Back when I first set up my two displays on my HD5770, the CCC was such a pile of dung I gave up and got UltraMon. Haven't bothered with CCC since. Maybe it's better now, maybe not. I only game on one display, but having the extra configuration options of UltraMon is great especially for things like setting up wallpapers and aligning the monitors.

I have run a similar setup as you (OP) and never had the second monitor shut down in a game while in full screen. Something is wrong. I have ran games at fullscreen on my primary monitor while having a browser up displaying a zone map on the other monitor. Unfortunately I have no suggestion on where to look for the problem.

I have not tried Ultramon but have heard it is very useful.

Thanks all,

I have it up and running now, with some of my monitoring programs running on the second monitor and my games in the main monitor.

I was mucking around with the CCC and was trying my hand a duplicating the displays and then switched back after I messed it up the first time.

Anyways, guess I pulled a Homer and succeeded dispite my trying!
