Hi

I bought a Geforce2 GTS second hand and it came with a couple of s-video leads, it all works well but I am having trouble getting the tv-out feature to work. One cable is an s-video extension lead, and the other is a Y-cable, going from a s-video plug to a s-video socket and what looks like a normal tv-arial plug. Having connected this plug via an extension lead to my TV, I was unable to get any picture. I had a look at all the Nvidia dual monitor/multi desktop stuff, but none of it made a difference. The one thing I saw that might have helped me was a page of the Nvidia drivers that let you select an output device, but this was greyed out, preventing me from selecting 'TV'. I also tried changing my monitor to 'generic TV', which again had no effect. The card is a winfast 32 meg version, with a standard monitor socket and an s-video socket labeled 'TV'.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Well, the "y-adapter" needs to be plugged into the video card most likely. Usually the port on the card is not a standard s-video port, it's designed to be connected to the adapter, then the s-video or coax/RCA cable goes from the adapter to the TV.

Make sure that the drivers are installed for the TV output chipset on the card. The nvidia Detonator drivers do not include support for features like TV-out, they only support the Geforce chip itself.

http://www.leadtek.com.tw/www/Web_Leadtek/drive02.asp?pronameid=22 these are the Leadtek drivers. I presume they'll have the proper TV chipset support. This should enable the TV output selection.

OK thanks for the info, I was hoping that the device selection page in the Nvidia drivers meant I didn't need to get the 20 meg driver from leadtek (via modem). Oh well :)

Thanks

OK well I downloaded the drivers and they installed properly and everything, but I don't seem to have any extra options. The device selection page still won't let me select TV...
