Help with thunderbird

I just added several of my emails accounts to Thunderbird.


I used exactly the same server SMTP/POP settings as i did in WinMail or MS Live Mail.

The problem is that unlike WinMail or Outlook or MS Live Mail, Thunderbird wants to download ALL, even old messages from the server. ( On one account alone for example is 80.000 spam emails, ranging from may/last year...and TB wants to download them..)

Q:

Why does WinMail NOT download those old messages, but Tb wants to fetch all of them?

Check your settings with your POP service. Because you had already used WinMail it doesn't need to download all the messages, but since you just started using TB then all your messages are all new.
