Help with the Whopper HSF from Computernerd.com

Anyone have experience with this HSF Combo?
For the life of me I cannot take this thing apart
off of my Celeron 300a. I'd like to replace it
with my Alpha Cooler or possibly test a Golden Orb
on it.
Any help with removing this damn thing would be helpful.
:disgust:

It's a slot 1 style heatsink/fan.
There's 2 total heatsinks and 4 total fans.
It just doesnt seem like it comes apart.

Yep...i had one a time ago....

Mine just kept on falling apart, because i seperated them somuch.(lapping, Artic Silver etc etc)

The problem is that there are 4 plastic ehhh stops or pins which have to be forced open...the pins have ribbed adges (where did i hear that before..😉) which hold the 2 halves of the HS together.

Did you install the HS yurself? or did you buy it that way?

Just (Carefully.... duh?) pry between the two HS (and not the CPU) with a big flat screwdriver and twist to seperate the halves. it takes quite some twisting but as long as you pry between the HS and don`t touch the CPU you should be alright.

Hope this helps you?
Don`t come here very often so if you want to know more: rjm.de.ruijter@wanadoo.nl

If I recall correctly, I bought it that way. It came
as a package deal, Celeron 300 gaurenteed at 450.

Ok, I'll just beat those stops out, and pry the plates
off. Thank you for the reply/help.
