Help with the PSP

I've had a PSP since launch but finally decided to start tweaking it. It's a v1.5 and I'm trying to install Mame and other emulators on it. For some reason, it doesn't seem to work.

Anyone have any ideas on where I should start?

This thing is a real pain in the butt. I thought I could just copy the files over to the directories and have it run but it doesn't seem to work that way.
