Help with Splinter Cell Double Agent Demo bugs

Okay since the retail version crashes every time I try to start it, I downloaded the demo version just to see if it would do the same thing.

The demo version actually starts but ingame Sam Fisher looks like a blob of black shapes and is unplayable.

What the heck is up with this game?? When I checked out the Ubisoft as well as Gamespot forums...lotsa people are having problems.

I hope NVidia releases a newer driver soon because it seems to be that lots of people with NVidia cards are having problems.

Anyway, has anyone else with an NVidia card had any luck with this game?
 
I finished the demo last night. Worked perfect for me with "next generation" settings.
I use the 91.47 forceware driver if its any help.

Edit: I see you have the new 8800 card . You need the latests drivers I think.

Yeah I tried the newest 97.02 drivers as well as a 96.97 driver that recognized the card. Both give the same texture corruption.
 
Same, 8800GTX. It's being discussed on the ubi.com forums... Known issue. Sucks, though, I can't try it on my old 9800 Pro b/c it doesn't support SM2.0 (wtf is with that, anyway) and I can't try it on my 8800 either >.>... Thanks, Ubisoft...
 
Ubi forum did collect some dxdiag for 8800 users .. u should submit urs maybe it will hlep them speed up a new patch taht fix this
 
The game hardly works on other cards either. As I said in the other thread on this a few days ago, it runs like complete crap.

huh?...it runs awesome on my x1900xt
 
What exactly is "awesome?" Also, are you using the demo or the full version? From the other thread, it was pretty clear that a variety of systems were having performance problems with at least the demo.
