Ok, so I have the audigy Fatality series sound card, I just installed it with new system build.

So far I have verified its in properly, i have installed the VISTA drivers from soundblasters site. I went into the BIOS - - > integrated peripherals - - > HD Audio and disabled that.

Now whenever I start I get this mesage:

"The console for the current mode of your audio device cannot be launched. The console may not be installed, or may not be installed properly on your system. You may need to re-install the console. Alternatively, you may choose to change the current mode of your audio device. D oyou want to change the mode of your device now?"

This comes from the soundblaster control panel.

I have no sound and at no point have I had sound.

I installed the 9 pin audio cable in my mboard prior to undoing the BIOS sound, and I had no sound then. I've tried putting my speakers into every damn female connection on the back of the monitor to no avail. Also, since getting the proper drivers setup, windows media player won't play music any longer (once that message started coming up about the modes)

Try uninstalling the device from device manager and then turning off the computer, switch PCI slots and then boot up and have it rerecognize it.
