i have the GA-8SRX motherboard (with the SiS645 chipset), p4 1.6a and pc2700 samsung memory. I'm not having the much of luck. I tried to put FSB to 133 and ram to 166 but the computer woudln't even boot. i'm kind of new at this, can anyone give me some advice? Also i can't control the voltage. it seems to be stuck at 1.75v preset in the bios? only options it gives me are to go higher?

Have you checked to see if there is an updated bios? Can you give some details on what you CAN adjust in your bios? Don't know much about that mobo/bios, but I'll help if I can...:)

i just updated the bios before i tried overclocking. it had f4 on there before and now i flashed it to f9. i'm not sure if the ram can run 133, but i hope so, it's ddr333 samsung and those chips usually run good. how do i get to the advanced bios settings. isn't it alt + f1 or something? i thought i heard that one time. What should i up ram voltage to? and how can i control the voltage on teh chip. it has it stuck at 1.75v and it won't let me change it. with the sis645 chipset, what oc'ed speed can normally be obtained?

I've heard many bad thing about the F9 bios in regards to stability, but that was 1 and a half month ago. So it might be more matured now. I was out of country over that time. I am using F8 bios and it works great. The memory is stable at 187mhz at +.2v. The 1.6a is running 2.5 at 1.65v. It's Ctrl+F1 to get to the advanced settings. Read thread if you haven't already for a lot of good info.
