Help with silverlight plugin issue

On my htpc, I am having a problem with the silverlight plugin. Basically, awhile back I got a bug where silverlight 4 quit working with netflix. It would give a error that said the date was possibly set wrong on my computer, and it could not play drm content etc. I did some research and found that this is a known bug or problem but I don't know what causes it. Up till now, the workaround was to run silverlight 3, and avoid updating it via windows update etc. This worked great, for the last few months but now the problem is, now netflix requires 4 to be installed! Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

I have 4 installed no problems, I had the DRM issue when trying to play, What fixed it for me was right clicking Firefox.exe and Running it as an Admin.

now I no longer have any issues, and no I dont need to keep running it admin, so try it out cant hurt.

i thought there was some way to empty some cached files or something to fix this?

"For windows 7: Go to C:\AppData\Microsoft\PlayReady and delete mspr.hds.
Start->Run Command->type in %ProgramData% and hit enter to open location.
Should be similar for XP, but I am unable to verify."

Hmmm well I am using google chrome, but I don't think it matters whether I use firefox, chrome or Internet explorer. I have ccleaner on the system, and do full cleans with it all the time, but I will try that tip about cleaning out playready. Would this help the browser issue though or just allow it to play through windows media ? Thanks!

Thanks for the help. It was indeed fixed by deleting the .hds file. I wonder how in the heck the thing got corrupt or messed up. Anyway I appreciate it! A htpc that won't play netflix is about as good as a bucket with a hole in it lol
