Help with setuping dual boot windows 2000 windows 98 se

I want to setup up a dual boot system with windows 98 se and windows 2000, i have two hard drives a 20 gig 7200 rmp and a 40 gig 7200 rmp , a AWI video card, sound blaster live, and a promise ata 100 card,384 mb ram 800 p3. what would be the best way to set this up? If i both win 98 and 2000 on the 20 gig, could they both read off the 40 gig ?

Thanks for the help.

Win2000 can use either NTFS or FAT32, while Win98 can only read FAT32. It's a better idea dualbooting off separate "physical" drives. I have both my HD formated as FAT32, so each OS can read off the other drives' content.

When you do it, install fresh Win98 on C:\. Once you have it setup, insert W2k disc while in Win98 to do a "clean install" of Win2k. The setup will take you thru it. Be sure to select D:\ as your Win2k drive, and let setup format it as FAT32 (unless you really really want NTFS and don't care about Win98 accessing Win2k files). When everything's done, you can repartition the empty space on HD to into more logical drives, more efficient that way. 🙂 Oh, put whatever OS you intend to use the most on the faster drive.

actually a good step 3 would be to make a Ghost image of Win2k in Win98, and then take a Win98 image in Win2k. 🙂 That way u'll have double redundancy in case one OS screws up. 🙂
