Help with setting modem in linux!

i have the 3com gaming modem and im trying to make it work at linux, the modems set's itself always in com5 with must be ttyS4 in linux, anyways with Kppp dialer i coul'nt set my modem, why? because it didn't have a ttyS4 port only ttyS0,1,2 and 3.

If someone know a good link with howto set gaming modem on linux or anyone here knows how to please tell me!
 
Do you know if its a software modem or a hardware modem. I'm pretty sure that its a software modem by it taking up com5. If it is software you can check for support at www.linmodem.org
 
I saw information about my modem at linmodem and it says is compatible, is the internet gaming modem by us robotics or 3cp5613, problem is that i cant find no howto's or drivers for it to install on linux mandrake 6.1
