Help with Seti and my network at home

Hey guys, seti newby needs a little help. 🙂

I have two machines at home. My main rig has two nic's. One is connected to my dsl modem and the other to the 2nd rig via a crossover cable. The main rig runs win2k and the 2nd rig win98se. I use windows ics to access the internet from the 2nd rig and share a couple of folders between the two with tcp/ip. Which is the only protocol I have installed on either rig.

I currently have the seti cli client and setilog running on both rigs. I use setilog so I can hide them both. I would like to cache work units on the main rig for both machines and have the 2nd rig flush through the main computer and retrieve it's work units from the main rig. I see you guys talking about flushing through proxy's all the time, like all the *borg* flush through Russ.

I am an extreme newby when it comes to networking. I can setup a very basic network with a hub and a couple of machines or via my crossover cable, but that's about it. I don't really know what a proxy is or how to create one.

Any websites I can search around on to find the answers or can someone help me out a little bit. I am knowledgeable about hardware, just not networking.
Also, I tried the pencil trick on my Duron to try and change the multiplier, but it didn't work. Any suggestions on that front? I'd like to be able to up my fsb to 133Mhz and drop the multiplier a little.

setiqueue is what you want. its proxy software for seti@home. there should be a link somewhere around here for it.
 
Hi tjdavis1138, I had a similar setup with cable modem, but the 2nd NIC was connected to 4 port 10/100 Switch. I used ICS to give access to 4 other boxes and it worked great unless the main system had a problem. I took out the 2nd NIC and now connect with a Linksys router. Anyway I use SetiQueue, as ElFenix suggested. It does a great job as a proxey. Check it out here.
