basically i need help with scaling resolution from lcd to tv

i want to keep my native lcd resolution of 1280x1024 on my lcd, but while i have my 7800gt clone out to my tv, have the tv resolution in 1024x768

im not sure if this can be done

an ex:

playing some css and im in the native lcd resolution of 1280x1024
i have this cloned out to my tv, but the tv can only see like 2/3 of the picture because it too is trying to view a resolution of 1280x1024. i need the tv to be scaled down so that i can see the full picture

is there a way to do this using the nvidia settings, and if not is there a third party program or perhaps a plugin like coolbits or something that is going to allow me to do this?

also what does video overlay and full screen options in the nvidia options do... ive played around with them and they dont seem to change anything

thx in advance!!

I don't think scaling can be done with NV drivers.
Video overlay options go for video playback like in Media Player. You can set that independently, but we're talking a different topic here. Full screen options are only valid when you play that video full screen. I use this feature to play videos on my comp.

ok, yea when i play a movie, it plays full screen and no video is missing

so there is no way to scale down the resolution when going to the tv is what you are saying

well that really sux

there really isnt a third party program that will do this... or is it not even possible

it seems like it oculd be done..

can it be done with ati drivers?
