I had winxp pro installed on IDE HD, i bought a bigger SATA seagate hard drive, because i need some data from my old one i just disconnect this one and i install OS on SATA hd, later i connect my old one to the computer and everytime when i try to start the computer i get boot disk failure error and i tried to connect IDE which is empty and i keep getting the same message. What can i do to solve this problem?

Let's see if I've got this straight.

You have installed an OS on your new SATA drive.
Can you boot off of this drive?

Does your old IDE drive still have an OS on it?
Or is it wiped clean?

If you have never yet successfully booted off the SATA drive, you need to go into your BIOS and set your boot order so you can boot off the drive. You did install the SATA drivers at the F6 prompt when you did the install, correct?

Jarko, welcome to the forum. The info boomerang asked for would help quite a bit in figuring out your problem. I assume you got XP installed just fine on the serial ata, but when you attach your old IDE drive to pull the files off, your computer does not boot. Most likely this is because the serial-ata drive is not set as the primary boot drive. You have to put it at the top of the boot sequence. Otherwise, when you attach your old IDE drive it will try to boot off of that.
