Help with remote desktop

i set up remote desktop but i cant access the rd from any computer. ive set up a static ip and the rd isnt running any firewalls or antying (for now)

help please on how i can connect :)

The 2 most common problems I see users have with RD are:

1. Correctly configure your firewalls (Windows Firewall included).
2. Ensure your user that you're trying to connect as is has RD permissions.

The first solution may help you if you never see the login screen (unless you're using Vista then you will may be prompted for login even if this is the case).

The second solution may help you if you do see the login screen but can't sucessfully login.

Another solution is logmein.com ... simple to get & easy to use.

For non-techies, use logmein.com It's free and easy to use. Honestly, I've never had any problems with RDP. If your on broadband with a router with Windows XP, either disable the firewall or make an exception for Remote Desktop, then forward port 3389 to that computer on the router and then write down your public IP and that's it.
