This is kind of a weird problem that I'm hoping someone can help with. I have two hard drives, one is a SATA drive that has my operating system and installed programs, the other is an external SATA drive in an enclosure connected through USB. I am currently running a defrag on the external drive and noticed it's taking a long time on one particular file.
The problem is that the file is in the folder D:\$RECYCLE.BIN\S-1-5...\Team Fortress 2_disk1_0.sid
I know what this file is because I remember deleting it. The problem is, it's not showing up in my recycle bin so I can't get rid of it. This file is something like 3.7gb in size. If I open D: and enable "Show hidden files and folders" and untick "Hide protected operating system files" I can see the $RECYCLE.BIN folder. I open it and it only has two items, both called Recycle Bin and both with the recycler icon. When I open them, both are empty (as is my regular recycle bin). Anyone know how I can find this file and get rid of it?
Operating system is Windows XP Media Center Edition. The defragger that found the file is Auslogic Disk Defrag.
