help with RC5

I'm using Analog X Proxy, so my second computer can flush/fetch on it's own. But it's not working, I'm on the second computer now. I can surf the net but RC5 won't flush/fetch. Is there something I need to do in RC5 so it can flush/fetch using the proxy I setup??

Thanks

One thing I can thing of:
Try adding the following lines to the [networking] section of your dnetc.ini file:

firewall-type=http
firewall-host=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:80 <---change xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx to the IP addy of your proxy, and :80 = the port you are trying to send through. Change the port to 2064 and try too.

And play around with the firewall settings. Bring up the config menu, option 2, option 6

🙂

What type of error message are you getting?

RaySun2Be,

I tried that already. I'll try your port number. The error I get is: Netupdate:: Connect handshake failed (0.168)

I'm not familiar with AnalogX, but if it's like other proxy software, you may need to specifically configure it to allow port 2064 to be used.

You also might try flushing to the IP address, instead of the name, in case the software isn't allowing DNS to work.

EDIT: OOPS! Forgot the IP address:

207.108.218.138

I tried the IP address instead of the name and the port 2064. It still doesn't work. So RC5 needs port 2064 to flush/fetch?? Anolog X doesn't allow me to specifically configure it to allow port 2064. So I guess i'll try another proxy.

try the proxy80.teamanandtech.com proxy using port 80. try the DNS and IP address before trying anything else. 🙂
