Not too long ago I posted here trying to get RAS to work.
Well, I got passed that problem and it is working now but I still have one hang up. Here is the situation.
The modem in the RAS server is of course connected to a telephone line in the wall. When I dial in to that number everything is fine and dandy. The only problem is that we have a 800 number so that when the boss and select others are out of town the can dial in for free. The 800 number is forwarded to the line that the modem is connected to. When you try and dial in with the 800 number the modem in the RAS server will kick in but will not properly negotiate. It just has a single high pitched tone. After a moment you get an error message from the machine you are dialing up from that says no server was able to validate your request.
This is driving me mad. Obviously the number is being forwarded properly because the modem kicks in when you use the 800 number. And also, obviously, the RAS is working because when you dial the local number everything is fine.
Anybody have any ideas? All your help would be much appreciated.
