help! with radeon 32 SDR

help!
i installed a radeon 32 megabyte SDR pci card;
i thought it would improve my graphics performance (i used to have an onboard 8 mbyte card)
but for some reason,the card has actually made my diablo 2 work slower
so slow, i can barely play it.
also, my screen's resolution always reverts back to 640*480 after i play a game; i want it at 1024*768
i've installed the latest driver, but that hasn't helped
what do i do?

What've you got in your system besides that card? PCI cards generally need more CPU power than AGP Video Cards do.
 
What drivers?? What was your previous videocard and did you completely remove the old drivers???
