help with proxomitron and windows update

I cant get windows update to work whenever I have the proxomitron running. I already added the entries for windowsupdate to my proxy settings under the list of "do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with" but it still wont work. Does anyone know why? This is under winxp pro, if it matters.
