Help with processors for budget laptop

I have taken the task of finding a notebook pc for my aunt and uncle. They are looking for something in the $800 range.

The requirements are pretty standard stuff:
15" screen, XP Home, Office Basic (Word Excel), 54g wireless, 30GB HD min, 96whr 12cell batt, DVD/CDR-W drive.

The usage will be basic email/internet, and burning CDs, as well as alot of word processing and spreadsheets.

I'm just not sure where to go processor-wise. From what I understand the AMD Athlons are good, but tend to use batteries quickly. Is this still true of the XP-M processors? What about the Athlon 64? The HP and Compaq's offer those but don't specify if they are Mobile Athlon 64 or regular Athlon 64. I've been warned to steer clear of the Celerons, even the mobiles...is this accurate?

Can someone point me in the right direction on this one?
