Help with Print Screen button on Keyboard

I know that this is probably a stupid question, but humor me please.

I know that when i hit the print screen button on the keyboard, it captured anything on the desktop. But where does it store the image???

on the clipboard

go to Paint and click Edit -> Paste

Just go to any image editing program (MSPaint, PhotoShop, etc.) and hit "Paste", and Voila!

clipboard. use some image editing program and paste then you can save.

Don't forget, hitting ALT-Printscreen captures only the focused window and not the entire screen. Can come in handy in many situations.
