Help with power supply for new rig

Ok looking at building a new rig with the parts i will say below, but not sure if the power supply i want will be enough or a 1000 watt psu is needed instead.
asus rampage 2 extreme
i7 920 - will be oc'd to around 3.5 (maybe 4, never know lol)
corsair 3x2gigs of dominator ddr3 1600
gtx280
antec 1200 case
2 wd velociraptors in raid 0

on top of this lookin at using
Laing D5 Vario/Swiftech MCP655 Inline 12V DC Pump
and last the 3 120 rad fans.

Looking at the antec sig 850 ps but not sure if it can handle it all. Not sure if i need to step up to the 1000w area or not. If so some ideas of why it should be fine or reasons to go up as well as psu's to look into and reason behind it please.

You could probably run all that fine on a quality 650w PSU, maybe less, unless the H20 pump pulls more power than a 2nd GTX 280. I'm guessing the 850w Antec Signature will be overkill for what you've listed. I'm sure others will chime in with their input.

well i looked at the antec sig 850 for the head room it would have for future upgrades and don't want it to be loaded heavily is the reason i am asking. The big reason is am lookin at water cooling cause the i7's run hot.

More than enough for only a single video card.

The Signature 850W is pretty much enough to tackle most all dual card setups. Your pumps, fans and OCs aren't going to pull as much power as a second GTX 280 would pull.

Antec Sig 850 is way overpriced.

Do yourself a favor and get a Corsair 750TX or 850TX

You may want to think twice about the velociraptors, the WD caviar black edition drives (320gb and 640gb especially) are very nearly as fast while costing alot less and getting alot more storage. Just a thought...

Expensive...yes, overpriced...that is very debatable.

The Antec Signature series is an a whole other class above the Corsair units. All of those units would suit his needs, but the Antec Signature is a unique performer.

From all the research i have read i like the results of the 850 sig over everything i have seen. Yes it may be a bit more but i was wanting one that delivered everything it should and more. So i guess the main question is if i went to 2 cards in the future i might be stuck then? Not lookin at getting another card for it but it is nice to know if the ability is there to upgrade.
Only thing that worried me is i was sitting at 770watts when i used antecs calc for the set up.

I am pretty sure you would be fine even if you wanted to add a second GTX 280. The calculator that Antec uses most likely adds a little expecting that you may buy a crappy PSU.
You could always go with the $400 Silverstone Zeus ZM1200M

Even with a second GTRX280, Something like a corsait TX750 or TX850 or PCP&C 750w would have ample power while being very nearly as good as the Antec sig for twice the cost

It would be silly to throw money at a $260 PSU when a $130 PSU would do the job just as well
