Help with possible virus!

I'm not sure if it's a virus or not, but when I try to boot up my dad's computer, it will start to boot up, then show the windows shut down screen, and shut down. If we run DOS, we can boot windows from DOS, but it freezes up and will not work for extended periods. Anyone ever had this problem? Please help!!
 
Haha, we fixed it, didn't figure out the problem, but we used the HP resource CD and re-installed the windows files. Didn't lose all my mp3s i'm storing there 😀
